Mechanical/Assembly Manufacturing Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate various groups, including customers, support staff and technical staff

  • Conduct engineering evaluations, statistical analysis and corrective actions supporting process improvement efforts

  • Monitor and continuously improve the quality of manufacturing processes

  • Support continuous process improvement projects

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing methods, work instructions and processes

  • Create and validate manufacturing processes

  • Conduct experiments, defect and failure analysis and report preparation

  • Evaluate, troubleshoot and problem-solve mechanical and assembly portions of products to be built

  • Provide technical expertise to Production and Quality teams

  • Work directly in the ECN change notification process

  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers and our internal Procurement Team Required education, experience and attributes of a successful candidate

Required education, experience and attributes of a successful candidate

  • “Must have relevant, recent and verifiable EMS experience”

  • BSEE or a BSEET or 15 years’ experience with an emphasis on process controls or manufacturing engineering

  • 8-15 years’ experience in an electronics manufacturing environment

  • Experienced in reading electrical drawings, complex customer blueprints and specifications and then turning them into manufacturing documents 

  • Clear understanding of lean practices and continuous improvement within a

  • mechanical manufacturing environment

  • Experienced in complex box build integration processes

  • Skilled in providing guidance on improving the mechanical portion of a manufacturing environment

  • Knowledgeable in IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, ISO and MIL standards

  • Experienced in assembly process evaluation, control and validation

  • Proficient at preparing work instructions, assembly & test procedures, stenciling

  • instructions, tooling and fixturing specifications

  • Ability to read and write technical English with a high degree of proficiency

  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 or AS9100, and FDA -certified electronicsmanufacturing

  • environment

  • Continuous improvement champion is a plus
